Southern Gothic proved a natural choice for award-winning author Rocky Porch Moore. Moore grew up on an isolated mountain in North Alabama in what can best be described as a haunted house. When haints are counted as kin, it’s no wonder the macabre becomes just another square in the family patchwork.
Moore graduated from the University of Alabama with a degree in Comprehensive Language Arts. She earned her Master’s at the University of South Alabama. Clemenceau’s Daughters, Moore’s debut novel, took gold in the FAPA President’s Awards for horror as well as silver for literary fiction. The book earned honorable mention for general fiction in the prestigious Readers’ Favorite International Book Awards along with the Readers’ Favorite 5 star rating. Moore’s second novel in the Clemenceau saga was released in early 2018. A Gathering Misery was the 2018 FAPA President’s Awards gold medalist for horror. A Gathering Misery has also earned a 5 star rating from Readers’ Favorite.
Rocky Porch Moore resides on a farm in Lower Alabama with her husband and four children, one of whom is named for her favorite gothic author, Mary Shelley.
