The Literary Club of Andalusia High School joined creative writers from Foley Middle School for a workshop on writer’s craft and a roundtable discussion about pursuing the dream of becoming a writer.  “I love to field questions from teenagers because they are often raw and very pointed,” said Rocky, who served as the moderator/presenter for the event. “It’s great to motivate young people to get their hands dirty with the work of writing and to see that spark of confidence ignite.”

Topics varied from establishing productive writing habits to sourcing names for characters. Rocky also discussed the necessity of reading as a study of the writing craft and the power of personal journaling to capture not just a moment but a frame of mind.  “Because our interaction was so at ease and frank, I think I was as inspired as the students were informed,” Rocky beamed.“I had a great time working with these young people.”
